Though Ninaithale Inikkum is a remake of the Malayalam superhit movie Classmates, almost every aspect of the storyline is treated differently and the characters are shown in different light. The film was released on September 4, 2009, receiving mostly mixed and negative reviews. The film was produced by Gemini Films Circuit and distributed by Sun Pictures. The film’s title was taken from the 1980 Tamil film of the same name. In this song Shakthi (Bagyaraj’s real life son) is in love with Shali (Anuja Iyer). When Shakthi is killed unknowlingly by his best friend Shiva (Prithviraj) Shali is left alone and song is in her flashback.
